Jessica Michael
Labor Relations Instructor

Ms. Michael practices exclusively in the labor and employment field, counseling clients on matters including discrimination and harassment claims, the Family Medical Leave Act and Americans with Disabilities Act, grievance arbitrations, retaliation, wage disputes, and how to avoid forming an employment relationship with volunteer firefighters in light of the recent Emmaus case. Prior to joining Campbell Durrant Beatty Palombo & Miller, P.C., she managed her own practice and helped small businesses with contract disputes, and worked for several plaintiff- and union-side law firms. She now uses that experience to help employers avoid lawsuits and establish best practices. Ms. Michael graduated in 2012 from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where she received the CALI Award of Excellence in Employment Law and served as an editor on the Journal of Technology Law & Policy. She also served as a fellow for the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project, teaching high school students about constitutional issues, and interned for Pennsylvania Supreme Court Justice Debra Todd. Before law school, Ms. Michael graduated Point Park University with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and worked for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
